Local Installation of LON-CAPA

If you are planning to make extensive use of LON-CAPA on a departmental or campus-wide level, it is generally a good idea to locally install the system. You will need at least one dedicated server.

The system can be downloaded and installed for free. You will need to contact lon-capa@lon-capa.org to have it linked to the existing cluster (subject to approval by the LON-CAPA Academic Consortium Board), but you can also install a standalone machine, or start your own cluster. Please consult our "Before you Start" guide for more details.

We would like you to succeed in installing our system and linking it to our cluster, and would like to offer remote installation assistance within our capacity. Also, we do have a system administrator mailing list. We also offer on-site installation support and technical assistance, as well as remote maintenance options. Please contact lon-capa@lon-capa.org for arrangements.
